Vegan?

SHACWATCH notices that Gerrah isn't on the VPSG list any more?

Is she loosing faith or just fancies a burger? She certainly won't be the last - pity she took so long.

Perhaps she'll find a cause that's actually worthy of her time. Such as warning young women away from con-artists who set up terrorist groups as hareems.

Gerrah Selby is just being sensible. She wants to have children when she comes out of prison and a Vegan diet makes that far more difficult.

The Vegan Society needs to provide better information on this issue as the majority of new Vegans are young women who are often not aware of the full health implications of a Vegan diet.

Interesting that although SHAC has always maintained that SHAC and ALF are not the same the ALF Support Group webpage lists a lot of SHAC people as its own.

Medawar hopes that nobody is so desperate in the credit crunch that they have to go and work for PETA. Few who do, prosper, as they're not happy for people to just work, they have to mess with heads and ruin their lives, too, almost as a condition of employment.

PETA the animal rights organisation that kills !

PETA’s Pet Killing Program Set a New Record in 2008
PETA Found Adoptive Homes for Less than 1 out of 300 Animals

Animal lovers worldwide now have access to more than a decade’s worth of proof that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) kills thousands of defenseless pets at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. Since 1998, PETA has opted to “put down” 21,339 adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens instead of finding homes for them.

PETA’s “Animal Record” report for 2008, filed with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, shows that the animal rights group killed 95 percent of the dogs and cats in its care last year. During all of 2008, PETA found adoptive homes for just seven pets.

Just seven animals -- out of the 2,216 it took in. PETA just broke its own record.

Why would an animal rights group secretly kill animals at its headquarters? PETA’s continued silence on the matter makes it hard to say for sure. But from a cost-saving standpoint, PETA’s hypocrisy isn’t difficult to understand: Killing adoptable cats and dogs – and storing the bodies in a walk-in freezer until they can be cremated – requires far less money and effort than caring for the pets until they are adopted.

PETA has a $32 million annual budget. But instead of investing in the lives of the thousands of flesh and blood creatures in its care, the group spends millions on media campaigns telling Americans that eating meat, drinking milk, fishing, hunting, wearing leather shoes, and benefiting from medical research performed on lab rats are all “unethical.”

The bottom line: PETA’s leaders care more about cutting into their advertising budget than finding homes for the nearly six pets they kill on average, every single day.

The Virginia Beach SPCA, just down the road from PETA’s Norfolk headquarters, manages to adopt out the vast majority of the animals in its care. And it does it on a shoestring budget.

Years of public outrage has not been enough to convince PETA to eliminate its pet eradication program.

Now the death toll of animals in PETA’s care has reached 21,339, including more than 2,000 pets last year. That’s not an animal charity. It’s a slaughterhouse.

UPDATE:

Friends of Gerrah Selby are now saying she has taken the view to break off from the animal rights movement. Described by one friend as "a return to a normal life".

Prison was a big shock to her, she expected to be treated like some sort of hero went she was banged up and the discovery that a) most other cons didn't have a clue who she was, and b) those that did thought she was an idiot really surprised her. (the ego has landed !)
She is hoping to return to her original university course on Zoology when she gets out and rebuild the relationship with the city lawyer she started seeing after her split from Dan Amos.

Poor old SHAC - Gerrah made the decision to break her links with SHAC and they simply will not accept it !

Friends of hers have tried to explain this to Indymedia UK readers with a couple of clear, concise posts there but quickly SHAC useful idiots were straight there to try and pretend it has not happened. Their "proof" ? She still has a Facebook page ! They don't seem to think that people will realise that she has nothing to with her page which was set up and is run by........SHAC !

Unfortunately for SHAC people are now much smarter about SHAC then they once were (well done SHACWATCH!) and so are taking the piss, comments that are of course either hidden or removed by SHAC friendly editors at Indymedia UK.

Too late SHAC when an insider like Gerrah wakes up to the truth about SHAC, walks away and decides to work for animal rights in other ways then you are certainly lost.

It's historical.
The ALF (ie: Ronnie) never really got over Cliff Goodman turning Queen's evidence.

Neither did they understand that he did so precisely because he was sickened by THEIR actions, especially where a pig-breeding unit was torched "to set them free". Medawar saw the results of this at the time, and for him the enduring image of the ALF will always be the sows that died trying to protect their piglets in the last corner of the pen to be reached by the flames. They are mad, truly, truly mad.

Not protestors, not activists, only really terrorists for want of a better term. They are madmen.
