Anybody seen SHAC???

Where have they gone - the odd pathetic photo stunt outside a local bank - other than that - gone!

Come on what happened to 'we never give up and we always win' ? I'm sorry to break it to you but - You are not winning

In fact most commentators say you have lost - could this be why you are trying to raise money without using the name SHAC? World day to support Vivisection indeed - nobody will fall for that crap!

Still there is always the VPSG - and they are increasingly necessary - more prisoners on the way too - keep fund-raising 'ladies'

Easy answer, gone looking for the next group of fools who will finance their lifestyle choices.

SHAC was always great if you were at the top, regular income from the street collections, no real work, nice house supplied for free etc etc. All you had to do was organise some demos and keep up the pretense of no involvement with the ALF to keep the police off your back.

Now of course it's a whole new world, cops have everything they need to know about SHAC so most of the leaders are in clink and the street collections are not producing the money anymore because the average animal lover has wised up to where their cash was going.

Expect a change of name will be anytime soon. Suggestions on a postcard but here's a couple

PINC - Please I Need Cash
NAR - Not Alf Really
SIC - Send In Cash

Although SHAC is falling away now and will probably be gone soon it is likely some of the same scum will rise up in other organisations. There is some excellent general advice here for people caught up in their web of illegal actions

General Advice for Victims/Targets
This section contains very basic information and will be further developed.

Where can I get advice?

What can I expect?

What evidence should I keep?

How can I help myself?

Which laws should protect me?

What do I tell my friends/neighbours?

What is being done to help victims

Where can I get advice?
Make yourself known to your local police. There are national guidelines on dealing with harassment and intimidation from animal rights extremism available to all forces. Some areas are more experienced in dealing with animal rights protest than others. You should request a risk assessment.

What can I expect?
The vast majority of protesters are reluctant to break the law but will often push the boundaries of peaceful protest to the limit. There are a very few whose actions are unlawful and clearly intended to frighten intimidate and damage.

As a target/victim of any form of protest you are likely to feel very vulnerable. If you feel harassed or intimidated by the actions of animal rights protesters or you suspect that your property has been damaged by them you should inform the police immediately.

Demonstrations
Published or spontaneous demonstrations may be held at business premises. Your employer should plan strategies to deal with these incidents.

A popular tactic of recent times has been home visits. Small groups of protesters will travel around to the private addresses of employees. The police have the power to instruct them to leave the vicinity. The Government has proposed new legislation to make this form of protest unlawful.

You should be aware that under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act 1998 you have the right to respect for private and family life.

Unsolicited goods and services
Activists have used this as a nuisance tactic for many years. You must inform the company in writing that the goods delivered are unsolicited. It is then their responsibility to arrange collection.

Suspicious packages
These are rare and usually harmless. They should always be treated with caution and left to the police to deal with.

Letters and telephone calls, faxes and e-mails
Letters should be handled as little as possible and given to the police at your earliest opportunity as should faxes and e-mails.You may consider installing a recording facility for incoming calls. Always inform your telephone company if you are receiving malicious calls. Most calls can be traced.

No offences are committed if letters and phone calls are polite and non-threatening unless repeatedly sent or made by the same person. This may be treated as harassment.

What evidence should I keep?
Record the date, time, place, and descriptions of persons and actions. Any photographic or video evidence should be left in the camera. CCTV footage should be preserved from your own systems and any others in the vicinity. Statements should be made as soon as possible after the action.

The police are sometimes reluctant to take statements if they consider the offence to be minor or unlikely to be prosecuted successfully. You may have to insist that your complaint is taken seriously. Write down how you feel at the time of the action. Victim impact statements may be requested by the courts at a later date.

How can I help myself?
There are several measures you can take to minimise some of the problems and protect your home address.

It may be useful to review the security on your business, home and property.

Actions need to be little more than you would ordinarily take. Make sure doors, windows and any outdoor buildings are locked securely and fitted with an intruder alarm system.
Whenever possible vehicles should be garaged and alarmed.
CCTV may be helpful but not essential.
Your home telephone should be ex-directory
Caller ID withheld
Do not accept anonymous calls
Remove your home address from 192.com
Register for the restricted list on the electoral roll
Company directors can apply to Companies House to have their private details put onto the Confidential Register.
Apply to the DVLA to have your car registration details blocked.
Sign up with the Mailing Preference Service.
To avoid goods and services being ordered on your behalf you can register a “Notice of Correction’ with the major credit reference companies and add in a password. If you buy something on credit this password must be used. You can register with CIFAS - a credit fraud avoidance system. There is a small annual fee for this service.
Be very guarded about the information you and your family give out to third parties.
Be careful how you dispose of personal information.
Be constantly vigilant.

What laws should protect me?
Legal advice for activists at www.freebeagles.org lists many of the relevant laws. Interpretation is from the protesters point of view but still contains useful information for targets and victims.

The Serious Organised Crime and Police Act received Royal Assent on 7 April 2005 and came into force on 1 July 2005. It contains several clauses that aim to crack down on the serious threat to UK medical research posed by animal rights extremism.

What do I tell my friends/neighbours?
Your neighbours can be a valuable extension of your security system . Try to discuss the problem in a factual rather than an alarmist manner.

Your friends and neighbours are entitled to the same protections as yourself. If they are targeted they should contact the police.

Some extremists may try to discredit you within your community. Always inform the police if you discover any evidence of this tactic.

Polls have consistently demonstrated that the vast majority of the general public support the use of animals for medical research and strongly disapprove of the tactics used by animal rights extremists.

What is being done to help victims?
The agencies of the Criminal Justice System have an obligation to protect your rights under the law. Unfortunately our experience suggests a system weighted heavily in favour of the rights of the protester.

In July 2004 a joint paper Animal Welfare and Human Rights : protecting people from animal rights extremists was published by the Home Office, DTI and the Attorney General. http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/crimpol/police/system/protection.html

A commitment to tackle animal rights extremism was included in the Queen’s speech and the Serious Organised Crime Bill currently going through parliament contains new legislation to protect individuals and companies from harassment. http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200405/cmbills/005/2005005.htm

The National Policing plan 2005-8 (para 3.56 ) instructs the police to "make full use of the powers available to them" to counter the criminal actions of animal rights extremists. http://www.policereform.gov.uk/nationalpolicingplan05.html.

It's possible that SHAC will merge with the US operation PETA, two pages from the same book however I wonder if SHAC people know the truth about PETA ?

Things You Didn't Know About PETA

1) According to government documents, PETA employees have killed more than 19,200 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens since 1998. This behavior continues despite PETA’s moralizing about the “unethical” treatment of animals by farmers, scientists, restaurant owners, circuses, hunters, fishermen, zookeepers, and countless other Americans. PETA puts to death over 90 percent of the animals it accepts from members of the public who expect the group to make a reasonable attempt to find them adoptive homes. PETA holds absolutely no open-adoption shelter hours at its Norfolk, VA headquarters, choosing instead to spend part of its $32 million annual income on a contract with a crematory service to periodically empty hundreds of animal bodies from its large walk-in freezer.

2) PETA president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has described her group’s overall goal as “total animal liberation.” This means the complete abolition of meat, milk, cheese, eggs, honey, zoos, aquariums, circuses, wool, leather, fur, silk, hunting, fishing, and pet ownership. In a 2003 profile of Newkirk in The New Yorker, author Michael Specter wrote that Newkirk has had at least one seeing-eye dog taken away from its blind owner. PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals, including research aimed at curing AIDS and cancer.

3) PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. This includes a 2001 donation of $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats. During the 1990s, PETA paid $70,200 to Rodney Coronado, an Animal Liberation Front (ALF) serial arsonist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory. In his sentencing memorandum, a federal prosecutor implicated PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in that crime. PETA vegetarian campaign coordinator Bruce Friedrich has also told an animal rights convention that “blowing stuff up and smashing windows” is “a great way to bring about animal liberation,” adding, “Hallelujah to the people who are willing to do it.”

4) PETA activists regularly target children as young as six years old with anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda, even waiting outside their schools to intercept them without notifying their parents. One piece of kid-targeted PETA literature tells small children: “Your Mommy Kills Animals!” PETA brags that its messages reach over 1.2 million minor children, including 30,000 kids between the ages of 6 and 12, all contacted by e-mail without parental supervision. One PETA vice president told the Fox News Channel’s audience: “Our campaigns are always geared towards children, and they always will be.”

5) PETA’s president has said that “even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we would be against it.” And PETA has repeatedly attacked research foundations like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, solely because they support animal-based research aimed at curing life-threatening diseases and birth defects. And PETA helped to start and manage a quasi-medical front group, the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, to attack medical research head-on.

6) PETA has compared Jewish victims of the Nazi Holocaust to farm animals and Jesus Christ to pigs. PETA’s religious campaigns include a website that claims—despite ample evidence to the contrary—that Jesus Christ was a vegetarian. PETA holds protests at houses of worship, even suing one church that tried to protect its members from Sunday-morning harassment. Its billboards taunt Christians with the message that hogs “died for their sins.” PETA insists, contrary to centuries of rabbinical teaching, that the Jewish ritual of kosher slaughter shouldn’t be allowed. And its infamous “Holocaust on Your Plate” campaign crassly compared the Jewish victims of Nazi genocide to farm animals.

7) PETA frequently looks the other way when its celebrity spokespersons don’t practice what it preaches. As gossip bloggers and Hollywood journalists have noted, Pamela Anderson’s Dodge Viper (auctioned to benefit PETA) had a “luxurious leather interior”; Jenna Jameson was photographed fishing, slurping oysters, and wearing a leather jacket just weeks after launching an anti-leather campaign for PETA; Morrissey got an official “okay” from PETA after eating at a steakhouse; Dita von Teese has written about her love of furs and foie gras; Steve-O built a career out of abusing small animals on film; the officially “anti-fur” Eva Mendes often wears fur anyway; and Charlize Theron’s celebrated October 2007 Vogue cover shoot featured several suede garments. In 2008, “Baby Phat” designer Kimora Lee Simmons became a PETA spokesmodel despite working with fur and leather, after making a $20,000 donation to the animal rights group.

Can animal lovers really be that stupid ?

They are in Germany:
http://www.directaction.info/news_apr07_09.htm

note that they go out of their way to identify the daughter of one of the victims. Does this remind you of anything?

Given that Ronnie Lee wants to bump off 90% of the human population, "German Shac's" ranting about Bayer's links with the holocaust are more than mildly hypocritical.

There was some, sparsely-informed, ranting along these lines in a comment on Medawar's blog a month or two back. Which went on to promote a Stalinist falsification of History, as Medawar recalls.

Bayer at the time of the holocaust was part of the I.G Farben cartel, like Bosch and Agfa: in a command economy, their freedom to do anything other than what Nazi industry ministers, such as Albert Speer, ordered them to do, is a little bit in question.

More obviously culpable was Farben's pre-Nazi director, Dr Fritz Haber, whose synthetic nitrates (for both agriculture and munitions) not only made it feasible for Imperial Germany to start a war of aggression in the first place, but who actively lobbied the Kaiser to authorize chemical warfare (which rebounded against the Germans) when the quick victory in 1914 that Haber had hoped for, did not happen. The Great War was 90% about using the German army to secure control of Farben's marketing area, (sort of early European Union.)

But Haber was Jewish and a Nobel prize winner, and understanding his crimes requires a knowledge of history rather than a handful of half-truths and some wild, dogmatic assumptions. Too much THINKING for SHAC!

And if NAZI policies were so dreadful, why are SHAC so keen on duplicating NAZI methods of threat, intimidation, lies and violence?

Perhaps Ronnie Lee is like Lubendorf, waiting for a new Hitler to emerge and avenge his defeat and realize his objectives?
